Product Placement & Blogging
Oh Yeah, Taglines, #Hashtags and so on, what about products?
Silly, Maybe.
Annoying, for sure.
What if?
Can I go to far? Most likely ;^)
Researching this topic, I came across this tidbit of info:
American Idol is the program with the most product placement on TV. According to Ad Age, the competitive reality series has had 208 in-show appearances of products like Coca-Cola, Ford, and AT&T throughout the month of March.
Oh, its not just about copy & paste some pictures, oh no.
We need to weave it into the tapestry of the tale. Fiction tale of our hero slamming a Jack & Coke. The girl is losing it, crying up a storm. Tell her to calm down, maybe give her a hug and take the opportunity to be the prince helping the damsel? No. She needs a Snickers.

Ok, lets run with this thought.
A tale of excessively obvious, yet cunningly hidden product placement.
The sun sets on another wonderful #blogging day. Sitting on the patio at #Starbucks, ready to write, windows 8 boots up. I look up just in time to get hit in the head by a Pepsi can. Oh yes, two wannabe gangstas’ driving their mom’s #ToyotaPrius, causing trouble. Quick on the draw, I reached for an abandoned 72 oz. #BigGulp left on the table. With precision, the cup impacted the passenger and splattered across the dashboard.
The Michelin LTX M/S 2 tires screeched to a stop. The wet passenger got out.
“Hey, Old Man, you gonna pay for this mess?”
I reached for my new Cabela's American Bison Leather Wallet. Pulled out my Capital One Venture Rewards card.
“Can you take a card?”
“What, of course not, old man!”
“Well, if you had a Intuit Card Reader, for your smartphone, you could take my payment with a small fee per swipe.”
“Well, I don’t!”
“I tell ya what, let’s call your Mommy and get her Allstate Agent information, because that Pepsi can you threw has given me concussion symptoms.”
He turned to his partner in ‘crime’.
“Lets go.”
The Gangstas’ drove away. I knocked off my Caramel Macchiato, turned to my Microsoft Surface, snapped on the keyboard, time to write.
