Another Adventure In Time
The Lone Ranger and Tonto.
I was a great fan in my youth. Watched every episode, huh, can’t figure out why I think I was born in the wrong century.
So needless to say, the news of the remake got my attention. The trailer is great. Don't worry about finding it.
I put it at the bottom, eh. No jumping ;^)

Today, lets learn about Tonto, the Crow tribe is not a recognized name such as, Sioux and Cheyenne.
“The Crow, also called Absaroka, (sparrow hawk or bird people,) were noble but fierce people who in the 1800’s followed the migrating herds across the Great Plains.” The American Frontier.
According to Maximilian (1843) the tipis of the Crows were exactly like those of the Sioux, set up without any regular order, and on the poles, instead of scalps were small pieces of colored cloth, chiefly red, floating like streamers in the wind.
The Crows have been described as extremely superstitious, very dissolute, and much given to unnatural practices; they are skillful horsemen, throwing themselves on one side in their attacks, as is done by many Asiatic tribes. Their dead were usually placed on stages elevated on poles in the prairie.
They had developed a tradition of hunting bison on foot and used dogs to pull travois and carry goods. From about 1740, the Plains tribes rapidly adopted the horse, but the severe winters in the North kept their herds smaller than those of Plains tribes in the South. The Crow, Hidatsa, Eastern Shoshone and Northern Shoshone were noted as horse breeders and dealers, and developed relatively large horse herds. At the time, other eastern and northern tribes were pushing on to the Plains, in search of game for the fur trade, bison, and more horses. The Crow were subject to raids and horse thefts by horse-poor tribes.
The Crow today:

The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument is probably the most visited attraction on the reservation with over 400,000 people visiting it every year. The battlefield, which is located one mile south of Crow Agency on I-90, encompasses approximately 800 acres.. The battle reenactment is held south of Crow Agency every year; this has become a large tourist draw for the Tribe.
So much history, so amazing.
Thank You for visiting, have a great rest of the day!
